Mozilla Firefox 12 Final

Release note for Firefox 12:

Windows: Firefox is now easier to update with one less prompt (User Account Control)
Page Source now has line numbers
Line breaks are now supported in the title attribute
Improvements to "Find in Page" to center search result
URLs pasted into the download manager window are now automatically downloaded
The column-fill CSS property has been implemented
Support for the text-align-last CSS property has been added
Experimental support for ECMAScript 6 Map and Set objects has been implemented
OS X: WebGL performance may be degraded on some hardware

I have just installed it over 11. Works fine, but then again I rarely notice much difference when it comes to browser updates.

version 1384879234

Is this the same as the 12 1 alpha beta (auruoa or something) that was going around? that had a lot of problems. I am apprehensive about updating. I think version 11 might be the new version 3.7

I am curious as to whether they finally release the native coded android version, didn't release 11 on android at all. Chrome on the phone is pretty damn awesome so they have a lot to catch up on.

Firstly, 12 is simply background work for the real changes in 13/14. Second it's due on the 24th, and the last release had security hole which was patched a few hours before release which is why many people are simply waiting for the final build of 12. Third, as has been said many times, mozilla adopted this silly numbering because google uses it on chrome. Apparently there are people out there who base their browser on how big the number at the end of its name is. Assume these people are in the same category as no av/all passwords are password1 - darwin would be proud.

Also there's a lot of people here using waterfox, which won't be compiled until the last minute (because of the security thing before).

Daft versioning is daft. People see versions such as 10 and 11, which is fine, but when you put a minor update and realease a new version it looks stupid more so when it gets to version 30. But when they get that high no doubt Firefox 2 will be released - or something.

daft versioning? I am using Chrome at the moment and the version number is

18.0.1025.162 m

Now that is a lot more daft than Firefox 12, surely?

what's wrong with password1 easy to remember :D

Do people still need/use AV with MSE and Firewall enabled?

Someone remind me if anything has changed in the last 9 versions of Firefox? Just pumping out version numbers to "compete" with Chrome is so pointless.

Especially when Firefox does not update in the background like Chrome.
