Firefox 2.0.0.11 Up

Will be interesting to note how many Eset Smart Security users have problems with this installation.

I upgraded this morning, and it wouldn't load up for me. Uninstalled it, deleted all folders (%Appdata%, etc), restarted, did a regclean - and it still wouldn't fire up!

Dug into Eset Smart Security, and disabled everything one by one - and it turned out that disabling the firewall allowed FF to load.

After more tinkering, I worked out that if I left 'Enable detection of application modifications' UNticked, then it would load up with the firewall enabled. So, that box remains unticked...!

referring to basmic's post. firstly, that post could be quite useful... thanks :) secondly... what a pain in the ass!

Eset, as in the guys who made NOD32?

I'm running sunbelt/kerio firewall, and it has a similar function. However, when it detects an application modification it just asks you what to do, rather than a blanket block.

Wouldn't it also stop you from patching games, as the exe will likely be modified too?

This version uses less RAM now too, not that I'm bothered with 4GB of ram but some people will be :)

With 33 tabs open (all media sites) my Firefox uses:
