Firefox 2.0.0.5 Released (and 2.0.0.6)

Beware, that link may give you the en-US locale. This is more appropriate, or better still just use AUS (i.e. Help -> Check for Updates) - it's easier for everyone.

Additionally:

* Adobe Flash Player v9.0.47.0 has been released, which may fix some crashes.
* Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 6 Update 2 has been released, which may fix some crashes.

Bugs fixed in 2.0.0.5 - Bugs fixed (so far) for Firefox 2.0.0.5pre: ~99 in total; ~15 crashers, ~10 regressions, ~2 privacy-related bugs and ~12 where no information is available.

Expect a 2.0.0.6 (thread) soon.

Bugs fixed (so far) for Firefox 2.0.0.6pre: 4 in total; 1 regression and 3 security-related bugs:

  • #388121 [Core]-More consistent handling of principals for loads across docshell type boundaries. [All]
  • #388583 [Core:XP Toolkit/Widgets: XUL]-Autocomplete dropdown doesn't update when scrolling with scrollbar [Mac]
  • #389106 [Core]-Escape quotes and escape spaces even for the OnlyNonASCII flag[All]
  • #389287 [Firefox:Installer]-Remove protocol handler registry keys added by the MS shim [All]

And it's out:

5. #389580 [Core:File Handling]-some schemes with %00 launch unexpected handlers on windows [Win]

A quick turn-around to fix a mac regression and to close another security hole.

As ever, Help -> Check for Updates is the better way of getting it.

keep getting this error message

Close Fx, and use Task Manager to make sure there are no other Fx processes (close them/use end process), then start Fx again. You should get 2 UAC prompts as well (that should be reduced to 1 sometime - it already is in the trunk).
The install should work then.
