Just how stable is it at the mo???

I've downloaded the Beta 2 and I'm a bit dubious as to installing it!!... I originally had the Beta 1 installed and it FUBAR'd my favorites and refused to work most of the time!... I had to brutally remove it from my system and start a new profile for v1.5.6 to work...

Is it worth trying again??...

Will it go moobs-up on me again???... or should I trust it!?!..

Cheers
Sim :)

I've also got IE7-RC1 and Opera v9.01 (I test websites to see if they work!!)

RC1 should be out and about on the 19th.
I'd be inclined to go for a (recent) nightly build (like the latest) - there aren't many bugs (less than in the beta 2), and it has some theme changes since beta 2 was released. Be warned you'll get the update window once a day though.

Beta 1 had Places (which is presumably what screwed up your profile), which has been held off for Firefox 3. It's still a..."work in progress".

I found firefox beta 2 to be very stable, but most of my "must have" extensions didn't work so i had to bin it until i find that they do. Might wait for RC1 then

Tolien, thanks I have just installed the latest nightly build, and all seems well :) Daft question, when I search for updates, it gives me one (Bon Echo 2.0 Nightly 2006091504) should I just update as I would with RC builds of Firefox?
Thanks.
I like the theme changes and this build feels faster :)

Yup. Then when 2.0 hits release, either keep updating along the nightly channel, or switch over to the release (so you'd start getting 2.0.0.x etc). You might have to install the release version though.

Most will work if you override the compatibility check with the Nightly Tester Tools extension.

While I remember, there's this for anyone that wants rid of the Go button (removing it with Customize takes the address bar with it just now).
