Aye I've done it every morning since I read about 3.0.6, and it won't update. Sorry, should have said checking for updates isn't working.

Just installed it, will be interested to see if I can get through a day without it crashing left right and centre.

Hate to kind of ignore the topic, but, Google Chrome.

Firefox is just too big and clunky now. Chrome is so fast I almost can't stand to use anything else now.

Oh ok, that's pretty weird.

I suppose you could always just download the full 3.0.6 installer from getfirefox.com - doesn't fix your auto-update problem though. :)

I always see the argument of browsers being 'faster' and the like, but does it honestly matter?

Webpages load quicker then I can read them, and with noscript and adblock plus running my browsing experience is safe and enjoyable.

Until Chrome supports extensions it's little more than a novelty browser.

chrome is nice, but it doesn't change the fact that FF is still the only browser that fully supports firebug :)

due to the atrocious amount of memory that firefox can use and its instabilities, i actually try to do day to day surfing on safari and use firefox for web development... if only they'd sort the problems (which they promised for v3!) it really would wipe the floor...

I've noticed that firefox has been getting rather resource hungry of late and the most recent update has now progressed from regular crash reports on video and pages to crashing all over the place

have just downloaded chrome with windows media 7 and wow it's very fast - albeit I am still finding my around it

thanks for the recommendation

If Firefox is crashing that often, you're doing something wrong. Try a new profile, or maybe that Firefox (Safe Mode) shortcut in your Start menu next to the normal one...

Just forget about it - Firefox will find it automatically eventually.

How many tabs? How long has it been open? Are you watching videos/playing games? How many plugins do you have installed?
