firefox 3.5.7 update

Cool story bro!

Kidding :p

Yeah it seems to be bug fixes which are all good but I'm using nightly 3.7 Alpha 1 Pre release builds as the primary browser now, so smooth....so slick and everything just works.

Forgot about this so thanks for reminding me, just updated from 3.6 :)

Just installed this, coming from the 3.6 beta5. First thing i noticed was it is noticeably faster, I'm impressed. :)

Had to force install a few of my add-ons with Nightly tester tools but other than that its all good.

Anyone noticed that since 3.5.6 (I think) the google search has been going to the american google which is quite annoying if you use the shopping tab at all? Anyone know how to sort this out... its just started occurring and the other searches such as amazon and ebay still go to the correct uk sites, also my version string still shows im running the GB version: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.9.1.7) Gecko/20091221 Firefox/3.5.7

No problems here dude,

I use iGoogle for google.co.uk and get an option to choose UK search or worldwide and the Shopping link goes to the UK results pages.

3.6 RC1 isn't officially released on the main site yet but all addons work (as always).

Just do one of two things

1: Disable addon version checking via about:config
or
2: Install nightly Tester Tools

That's not an official link...

Anyone can pull off one of the RC betas/nightlies off the ftp and mirror it labelled as final.

Until it's in the release directory it's not final.

Install this add-on and navigate to www.google.co.uk . Right click on the search bar and select 'Add to Search bar' and follow options, probably name it as Google UK or something. You should then be able to select it from the list of search engines in the search bar.

Thanks, might use that as a work around for now. Seems kinda handy for other sites as well!

I also found this: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/13514 which is not what I need as it searches google uk but also ticks the "only pages from the uk" box but interestingly there is one review there where the person seems to be experiencing what I am:

Excellent. I have been frustrated by the change to 3.5 stopping me using google.co.uk as I have for the past.

There are some caveats before you run off and install a mozilla-central nightly:
  • You can't trivially go backwards and forwards between trunk and release versions. Backup your profile beforehand, and ideally you want to start off with a clean profile
  • The trunk is frequently unstable and quite broken; it's not always suitable for your main browser and you should by no means rely on it. If you need a stable, working, browser this isn't for you.
  • You really need to backup your profile
  • Backup!

The threads on Mozillazine track common issues as well as the landings so they're important things to keep an eye on.

Cheers :)

Thanks, I'll bear that in mind.
