Firefox 3.5 is out!

The 3.5 release is RC3.

What sites are you talking about? There's a bug with fixed backgrounds being jerky, but that takes some heavy lifting to fix.

I know RC3 is the release version that's what I stated and well even this forum seems to not scroll as smoothly as it did in Firefox 3.

No. I don't think it was ever on the agenda for 3.5 (although there are slightly working versions with separate processes).

I took what you said to mean RC3's as bad as the release version.

This version seems to be almost unusable for me, jerky scrolling on all websites, plus it seems to stutter every minute or so.:(

I cant seem to scroll through tabs any more, it now just scrolls the tab bar if I have more tabs than can fit on screen..

BBcode extra works flawlessly - just use nightly tester tools to force.

I deleted 3.5 as it was totally useless, so I reinstalled 3.0.11 and it mucked up some of the passwords, so I System Restored to 29th June and I couldn't open Firefox at all, so I had to uninstall and reinstall 3.0.11.

Now I can't play some flash games, even though I've uninstalled and reinstalled all of the relevant plugin's, overall, very disappointed.

I hope it's not a problem with Windows 7 and 3.5.

System Restore doesn't, AFAIK, touch your profile. It'll have been upgraded and so strange things will happen. There'll be a pluginreg.dat or something you'll probably have to delete to make it pick up on Flash.

Scrolling aside (if it was happening on every page, I'd suggest it was an issue with your profile/configuration than Firefox itself), what else was "totally useless"?

I looked for a pluginreg.dat and found nothing.

The scrolling issue was happening on every page, from BBC, Sky Mail, TV Guide, here etc, but a big issue was the bad response, often taking a couple of seconds to open another tab when clicked and shutting down took about five seconds as well.

%APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\pluginreg.dat

That definitely sounds like some issue with an addon. I'd have suggested sticking with 3.5 and fixing the problem.

Edit: or pluginreg.dat inside your actual profile (i.e. replace pluginreg.dat in the above path with Profiles\[random alphanumeric].[profile name]\)

I have just found the most kick ass theme EVER!

:D

It's call Rein and is on the Mozilla themes pages :p

Don't know if I'm being stupid, but I've searched everywhere and can't find the pluginreg.dat at all.

Quite liking this release. Much, much faster at Javascript than Even the latest Opera 10 beta builds. :( So Fastmail and Gmail load up quicker for me. :)
It's exactly the same as it was in 3.0 for me. I'm guessing you're wanting to strange smooth scrolling that IE uses? I personally scroll 3 lines at a time.
Is that a Windows or Firefox setting? :)

A Windows setting. I've never touched the scrolling settings in Firefox as I like the 3-lines-at-a-time scrolling.

On XP it's definitely at the path I mentioned, especially the one inside the profile itself (i.e. %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\Profiles\[random alphanumeric].[profile name]\pluginreg.dat).
