Firefox 3.5 is out!

Mozilla is about to release next patch for Fx 3.5 into 3.5.1 by this month to fix the 3 bugs... date unknown, think it between middle to end of July..

Has anyone else gone back to 3.0.11??..3.5 is reallllly sluggish wont be updating till they sort it out

Yep, I did that yesterday, just couldn't cope with 3.5.

I felt some increase from 3.0.11, however still not as fast as Chrome.

But the speed is bearable now as i can now also use adblock and other such add ons.

There seems to be an issue with startup speed that's fixed by clearing IE's Temporary Internet Files.

Jumping between versions with the one profile is asking for Bad Things to happen.

So rather than updating you should do a fresh install? Manually deleting your old profile i take it?

Is that really worth doing?

Fx 3.5 seem lots better than 3.0.11 as 3.5 run so fast, havent problems. Same at my work that run lots quicker as well.

Running 3.5, why does everything even my remebered passwords for here are cleared everytime I delete my history, I have selected custom from the options menu, and then privacy menu and made sure the option of remebering everything is set to yes, but it still clears all data.

Any suggestions?

I just selected the update feature under the help tab, Took around 30 seconds & a FF restart.

Backup your profile beforehand and generally the upgrade should go smoothly. Upgrading, going back, then upgrading again is asking for trouble.

On the other hand, the number of times a problem is related to a corrupted file in your profile it's sometimes better to occasionally blow away the profile and re-import your bookmarks, install extensions etc.

Is it deleting the actual saved passwords, or do you just have to log in?
The latter's probably a mangled cookies.sqlite, the former might be a few things.

Unimpressed - other than that its nearly identicle for what i do with it..

If it's saying that, it thinks it's crashed more than once, so either it has or there's something very odd going on with sessionstore...

You couldn't possibly have overridden compatibility on an addon, or were letting it handle sessions?

Yea I get that as well quite a lot but it just gives me a list of all the tabs that I had open and a button to restore them all.

Yep me too, I surf a lot of different varied sites on the net and tbh I've found Firefox 3.5 to be quite unreliable, it is faster though I'll give it that.

If you're seeing about:sessionrestore a lot, something's happening to make Firefox think it's crashed (or it is crashing). Stop that (usual drill: safe mode, new profile, crash reports if you're submitting them) and you'll stop seeing the page...
