I installed firefox3 yesterday and I have 2 issues with it

1) No linky for firefox3 - not much that can be done about this I guess, unless there are some alternatives?

2)With firefox 2 when I typed something into the search bar I could press enter to commence the search, but this doesn't work in firefox 3 I now have to click on the search button after I have finished typing, is there a way to enable the the enter button in firefox 3?

I don't understand your first problem.
My enter button works in my search bar, so maybe you just need a reinstall of it?

1) Not sure what you mean.

2) Must be a bug in yours cause mine works fine the way you describe.

so far i'm finding it quite buggy. Quite frequently the context menu's go blank, and I have to quit and re-open to get it back. Also a few times i've had flash based video players randomly stop working right, again a restart fixes it. I've also had it randomly stop responding to me clicking on links, just sits there and does nothing.

So far I haven't had to many troubles with it. My main gripe was the lack of clear download window with the pre release version - now sorted in the first release.

The main problems are still time taken for it to load and occasionally after using the same windows with multiple tabs and media heavy sites it seems like the connection has dropped off - a quick restart seems to fix this.

did you upgrade with a firefox 2 profile in place? maybe it's time to backup your bookmarks and start with a clean, fresh profile for FF3. :)

i've had issues where i can no long type anything in the forum window i was in after switching between tabs. bloody annoying :/

hmmm, is there a way to submit a bug report to mozilla? I know they have their own forum but it's a bit crowded and disorganized

I would like to avoid starting again with a fresh profile if possible, I find the retained search strings quite useful

Try safe mode and/or a new profile before you submit a bug. It's almost certainly an extension causing the problem.

Which forum are you talking about?
There's the Mozillazine forums, but they're not affiliated with Mozilla.

that did the trick for issue 2, one of the extensions was causing the search bar issue

thanks :)

Only issue i have is that it seems to take longer to open after bootup, it doesn't happen after that but it is noticable.

I hate the way you close it down, open it again, and it says its already open when its not, so you have to close it down and wait a bit before reopening, its so annoying that i find.

It's still running, even if there's no window - it needs to finish writing some of the files in your profile, though unless your hard drive's ancient it should only take a few seconds.

I don't like how dragging a URL from the addressbar to the end of the Bookmarks Toolbar sends it to the bottom of the Bookmarks Toolbar list.

I have quite a few boomarks in the toolbar resulting in a dropdown list button at the end of the bar, clicking this brings up the remaining bookmarks in a list. Dragging a URL into the empty space before the drop down list button would make that bookmark the first on the dropdown list, in FF2. This has changed in FF3 :(

Anyone have an idea on how to change it back?

The page for that extension says it's compatible with Fx3, so that should be both issues sorted.

when I up upgraded to ff3 the linky extension was greyed out in the list, I tried to reinstall it which did work, however while linky will launch various page links to multiple tabs it will not load image links into one tab (in ff3 at least)

is it possible to have ff2 and ff3 running installed side by side on the same os?

It should check for updates, get a version that works, and go from there. Any issue with the extension itself is up to the author.

Yeah, though not using the same profile.
