Reinstalling is virtually pointless because it won't touch your profile.
It does if you tick the box that says remove firefox personal data on the uninstall menu.
There is no need to do a complete wipe of everything, as using a clean profile is equivalent to using a fresh install of Firefox (ie. there will be no bookmarks, history, extensions, etc.)you foxmarks to upload your bookmarks, then wipe everything off, run ccleaner and then install 3.07 and download your bookmarks. then slowly one by one add your 'addons' if all is working

this is why i stopped using firefox 4 years ago and switched to opera...firefox sucks
