Firefox 3 is driving me nuts

im using Firefox/3.0.3 and its driving me potty

everytime i download a file it wants to virus check it and i cant find where to disable it. Everytime it tries to scan a file i get the donut of death and the window whites out and i have to end the process.

Im using Vista Business x64, is anyone else having this issue?

I've never been sure about this: Does Vista's download system have an inbuilt virus checker or does it involve a plugin from your existing AV product?

[edit] hang on - just noticed this is Linux/open source...

i am using Vista but Firefox is open source software

in the address bar.

Search for

Code:

 browser.download.manager.scanWhenDone

Change it to False.
Done.
