Firefox 3 - No flash player?

Hey,
Basically I had flash working fine after upgrading to 3, but to view a video on metacafe I had to upgrade my flash player, so I went to the adobe site, and downloaded the installer, then ran it(after closing firefox.)
Started again, and 'lo and behold, there was no flash at all?

So, I downloaded the flash uninstaller, ran that, then tried again. Nothing.

I thought I'd try it on internet explorer, and the installer for that worked fine.

I have tried installing it various ways - the exe file from adobe.com, and also the built in firefox plugin installer, but neither work, and both leave me with no flash installed, with "additional plugins are required to view this site".

Very frustrating!

Is this an actual problem, or does Firefox 3 not work with the latest flash?

The installer (and Flash itself) for IE is completely different, so it doesn't really tell you much.

Which version of Firefox are you actually trying - 3 isn't out yet - and which version of Flash?
Flash 10 works fine here with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9pre) Gecko/2008052406 Minefield/3.0pre ID:2008052406, and 9 worked fine before that.

Is there anything in about: plugins for Flash?

The only real issue I've had is

lug-ins]-Breakpad does not catch crash when flash plugin is active [Win]

barring the issues Flash has had for years with any browser (gobbles CPU time, slow, etc).

I've been having a lot of problems with Flash and Firefox 3. It decides it doesn't want to work and so requires me to go through the install and un-install process over again.

lugins has nothing for flash, although does have shockwave.

I tried from the plugin installer built into FF, and also from http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash

This is version 9.0.124.0

I'll try the firefox 10 beta you said about.

Definitely is FF3 though.

Tolien, you're a hero. Flash 10 Beta works. No idea why 9 doesn't though. Ah well, cheers both of you!
