It's using 350MB per firefox instance (for multiple tabs) and high CPU usage. Peaking to 60-80%, dual core AMD 240E.

Surely internet browsers can't be this memory intensive? Only thing I've installed after firefox is ABP.

As above, uBlock Origin is a lot more memory friendly.

As for memory usage, it might be the new content processes causing it. Go to Options -> General -> Performance, untick "Use recommended settings" and manually set it to 1.

1? You mean 7.
Well yeah that helps with performance :p. But I was talking about RAM usage, each process will have some overhead which increases RAM usage, and OP wants to lower RAM usage. 7 is fine on 8gb+ RAM systems but those with lower RAM might find it better to lower it.

Although saying that, 57 seems to drop the RAM usage by a fair amount, most likely due to Quantum.

Ah yes although common misconception itends to be with RAM usage. RAM is there to be used, so having large portions sitting there unused is wasted memory.

Windows is advanced enough to allocate RAM based on priority as and when needed anyway so it's all good.
