Hi All After posting a thread about what is the best browser , i have been using both Firefox and Chrome ,and if you add fasterfox and set it to Optimized the speed is neck and neck between them ,i would say they are equal in speed. So yes out of the box Chrome is slightly faster ,but i think the look of Firefox is much nicer, plus its a smaller download.:)

I love Chrome but the only thing I hate is how you can't have all you're bookmarks at the side open constantly.

Getting very annoying having to open my bookmarks constantly and moving them to the bar at the top is just not enough room for me as I have far too many.

adblock plus -this is what makes Firefox unbeatable imo.

Clears up the crap that people seem to think is fine to place all over websites, speeds website loading up, reduces bandwidth usage

I prefer Chrome, I have tried Firefail many times, given it every opportunity to impress me and every time it lets me down.

+1 for Firefox here too. I do like Opera though. When it has a proper ad-blocking capability [and no, manually blocking every ad doesn't count] and when every website in the world doesn't have issues with it - I'll probably use it a lot more! :)

I use Firefox and have done for years. I did try Chrome and I was quite impressed but the whole privacy debarcle put me off for good.

As per usual when I see Chrome being touted I feel compelled to offer up the fabled Iron, which is essentially Chrome without the......."privacy concerns". It also has an adblock feature!

;)

+1 Firefox as well, I just love how you can customise it. There is no denying though that Chrome is good, always have it on as a secondary.

Opera 10.5 beta is surprisingly good at the moment, FireFox is good but feeling a little bloated of late, Chrome does far too much tracking and report back to Google for my liking, IE8 whilst not particularly innovative is pretty stable & secure, Iron is great if you want Chrome speed on a webkit engine without the privacy problems, Safari looks OK but doesn't seem to do anything particularly well to warrant using it over one of the other browsers.

Unless you're using a stopwatch or get stressed over a browser taking 1 second instead of .2 of a sec to render a heavy java page they're all much of a muchness assuming you're interested in the web content rather than browser geekness :)
