Firefox and Cookies

For some reason, my FF at home has decided to stop accepting cookies. I go in and tick the box that says "keep cookies" and the next time I load it up it has unticked again.
What's wrong with it?
I've run NOD & Ad-aware with no results.

Tried new profile or safe mode?

i find this is quite often caused by firefox updating itself. deleting all cookies manually and starting again fixes it.
