I've just built my self a new PC but forgot to export my bookmarks from firefox into a html file. I still have the old HD lying about though. How can I extract the bookmarks without having to assemble the old PC again?
Not sure about your current problem, but install 'Xmarks' it's a brilliant bit of software
Actually if you can plug your old HD into your new PC, then you can copy the FF roaming folder in My Docs and replace your current one and see if that works.
Funnily enough, I went for a slightly more brute force approach.. when I found myself installing Windows more frequently than I'd have liked (combos of corruption and new laptop), I wrote myself a quick batch file that copies all the folders that look important for Firefox, Thunderbird, Winamp, Office 2007 and iTunes - just the things I use regularly and have all set up how I like them.
So I have that back up every night, then when I want to reinstall, simply install the programs, close them, and run the opposite of the batch file.. job done
