Firefox bug. Bringing up "Find" when I type

As I type this to you know I have to do it in notepad because when I am trying to type in the box Firefox keeps bringing up the find box and typing it in there.

I was discussing this on some other forums the other day and it's not just me who has this problem.

So I just wanted to know is there anyway I can stop this or at least not have restart FF?

Its in the option go to Tools -> Option -> Advanced -> General -> Untick the box that says Begin searching when I type.

However, sometimes it just decides to turn itself on again randomly. Least it does for me.

Only ever happens to me when a text input doesnt have focus.

Same for me. It even sometimes does it when a text input field *does* have focus. The only solution seems to be restarting Firefox when it does.

Once I switched it off its never turned itself back on again unless I've done a fresh install.

Cheers will try that. But yeh it happens when the box has focus. Like typing in this box here.

yeah its pretty temperamental

i just leave mine off now and use ctrl + f when i need it

i had this problem last week but it was only when i pressed a certain key. id actually forgot about this, it must have gone away when i restarted the machine.
