Firefox - Can't stream media player videos

Hello... This problem has been annoying me for quite a while now whenever I try to stream media player videos I get this error message.

"Can not create DirectShow Player"

Any help would be much appreciated.

Tried this or this, or reinstalling the WMP plugin?
Is it the same in IE?

Yes it's the same in IE as well. I've tryed everything suggested on those 2 links and reinstalling the plugin. The only other thing it recommends is reinstalling Windows Media Player itself but cant seem to find a way on Vista.

Yeah, if it's the same in IE it sounds like a bigger issue with WMP/DirectShow.
