firefox crash - how can i recover my bookmarks?

a while ago my pc crashed and i had to reboot. now whenever i run firefox it immediately freezes. i've tried reinstalling, but it still freezes.

anyway, where does firefox store bookmarks? becasue there are some i don't want to lose.
