For some reason ever since ive used firefox it will randomly stop working about every 4-6 months. It'll work totaly perfectly one minute then the next will just freeze up/delete all my bookmarks and need a fresh install.....

Well it did it again today. When i start it it just goes to a white screen and freezes before it loads anything up.

I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it about 3 times and it still doesnt work, i even installed the latest version as i was still using 1.5 or something like that...but still no luck even with a totally different version of it......

Thankfully i saved most of my bookmarks a while back, but ive still lost quite a few from this latest crash.

So does anyone else have this problem/know how to fix it/know if its possible to get the bookmarks ive lost back?

Reinstalling is an almost complete waste of time, because it won't touch your profile data. Try a new profile.

%APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\[random text].[profile name]\bookmarks.html will have your bookmarks, and bookmarkbackups (in the same folder) should have previous backups.

the link for the "new profile" times out on me :/

And as i said before everytime it does this to me it deletes the folder containing all my bookmarks/backups etc..

ive just tried reinstalling it again but this time not chosen to start it up as soon as it finishes and it's now decided it wants to work :/

To answer your question, i just complete deletes the profile folder, not just the items in it
