Firefox Crashing In Ubuntu 8.04

Hey all, Linux n00b here, messing around with Hardy, and Firefox 3 Beta 5 keeps crashing out. Any ideas what might cause it/how to remedy it?

Also, on a completely unrelated note, I have an X-Fi Extreme Gamer, but apparently this is unsupported in Hardy. Is this true?

My Firefox crashed fairly consistently in Ubuntu as well which was a little annoying. I remedied it by switching to Opera, but if you want to keep hold of Firefox I'm not sure what the best plan of action is.

Hmm, firefox is pretty rock solid for me. The only crashes I tended to notice were caused by flash heavy pages and these have virtually been eliminated by flash 10.

IIRC the version you have is the last beta of 3.0 which comes when Hardy is installed? Have you tried the latest stable version (3.0.3)? Should be in the repositories - under menu System -> Administration -> Update Manager

Have updated to the latest version of Firefox now, and so far so good <touches wood>.
