FireFox + "Do this automatically for files like this" ?

Does this work for anyone when downloading files that will be opened in another program? Whenever I tick this box, I always still get the same dialog box :confused:
 
Only works correctly for me with Zip files. I tried researching this and got confused. From what I could understand on the Mozilla forums it is because Firefox uses MIME types and not extensions to handle this; after that I got lost. :confused:
