Firefox extensions installation question

Hi all,

Why can't I double click on downloaded .xpi files and get Firefox to install them?

Any thoughts.

My understanding is that probedb isn't trying to install from a site but instead from the .xpi saved to disk? The way around this is to open up Firefox and the extension manager (Tools>Extensions) and then drag and drop the .xpi file into the extension manager from the folder on disk.

Not sure why you would want to do this though, extensions are generally very small.

ah yep, Would help if i read the OP post properly.

Yep I dont think I've seen an extension larger than 250kb

Associate the xpi with Firefox and it will install when you double click it.
