Firefox + Facebook = Slooooowww

Hey guys, does anyone have problems with facebook and firefox? It's really bad for me, when I use facebook with firefox, pages are so slow in loading, often they don't load, sometimes they freeze and I can't do anything until I close the window and start again.

Therefore to use facebook I have to use IE, and I don't like doing that :(...it seems to run fine in IE...

any ideas?
 
It's fine here, but a) I'm using a mozilla-central nightly b) Facebook's JavaScript is dire. What version are you using, and (if it's >=3.0) what settings have you got for (about:config ->) javascript.options.jit.*?

I'm using 3.5.2...recently firefox has been giving me so much hassle, I actually feel like ditching it for something like Chrome but I'm not sure If chrome is good enough yet!

I forgot to add that sometimes some buttons on facebook are totally unresponsive, like the remove button on my wall..

Funny that if you were using any version of IE people would be telling you to use chrome/firefox and you would happily jump, but now that firefox has issues you don't want to use IE ?
Anyhoo, how bout trying firefox in safe mode and see if that makes a difference, seems like the obvious starting point
 
FB is fine for me in Firefox 3.5 - noticeably faster than IE.

Have you tried creating a new profile? Fixes most Firefox problems.
 
I used Fx 3.5.2 that run so fast that prefect for me - no problems at all and Im about to upgrade to Fx 3.6 by November (I used Fx 3.6a1 at work that seem really fast but it still beta version)
 
As suggested, try safe mode (there should be a shortcut in your start menu) or a new profile.

I was using Chrome for a week (was away from home, couldn't be bothered downloading/building/updating Firefox) a couple of weeks ago and it was just as broken (with Facebook in particular, though @font-face seems to be busted in Chrome as well). They do all sorts of crap, like sending different JS based on what browser they think you're using.
 
had an issue for a few weeks recently, I had recently updated to 3.5.2 and it was dog slow, everything was unresponsive, pages wouldnt load etc etc

I fixed it by totally removing firefox and just downloading and installing the new version again. must have been something about doing an upgrade instead of clean install that caused it? but it's working fine for me now
 
i thought i was having problems yesterday. but then i realised it was because some ejit has posted **** knows how many embedded youtube videos. that really slows down the home page loading time. i think i might have to hide all his crap. :mad:
 
I've had to move from Opera to FF for Facebook, stuff just doesn't work properly. Although is that Opera's fault, or just poor coding from Facebook?
