At last, Firefox has let me down. Whenever I try to download something through it it simply brings up a memory error like this

I know, I know, this is a textbook example of unstable RAM, but I can run EVERYTHING else including PRIME95 and memtest. I've had this overclock for quite a long time now without problems like this, but now one crops up. I've tried lowering the clock but it doesn't fix it so this rules out the memory overclock. I've tried re-downloading and re-installing but that doesn't fix it. I just opened it again and it's reverted to default settings i.e. default homepage, no links.

Oh, actually just now as I opened it again it's reverted to default settings i.e. default homepage, no links

Any idea's as to what it could be/how to fix it? (I'm now using IE and hating it)

The error says it's referencing location 0 - ie. trying to use a NULL pointer. This sounds more like a corrupt profile (or even a bug!) than a memory error to me.

Try this:

1) Quit Firefox (use Task Manager to make sure that ALL instances, even hidden ones, are gone)

2) Type the following into the Run... box off the Start Menu:

%appdata%\Mozilla

3) You should see an open Explorer window. Rename the Firefox directory to something like Firefox.old

4) Restart Firefox and keep your fingers crossed!

At first it didn't work at all, I got a different error message (Just with different numbers) but I re-installed it et voila! Thanks a lot!
