Firefox Final 2.01 Released

Yeah I checked out Mozilla.com and there was nothing there so I assumed Filehippo were jumping the gun as you say but looking at the previous Firefox release on FH they've listed RC versions as that but not this time.

Sorta. The latest RC, if it doesn't have any blockers, becomes the release version. So if 2.0.0.2 RC5 doesn't have any, it'll be the release version that's announced (in an hour, I guess).

If you want to save a big download, wait for automatic upload to do the job (700kB versus 7.5MB).
At least they aren't linking directly to the Mozilla FTP...

I never seem to invoke the auto update though. And I like to have the latest version of FF on my PC in case I have to reinstall.

Yeah one thing I like about Filehippo is that at least it appears as if they host the files themselves rather than to the original software site.
