Hi there,

I've just switched from Win XP to Ubuntu and find that the fonts in Firefox are very blurry/ unclear. I've installed msttcorefonts which improved things a little but it still doesn't seem right. Has anyone found a setup for Firefox which is almost identical to the fonts in Windows?

Cheers

Font rendering is a bit hit an miss on Linux because different apps use completely different rendering libraries. None of them are as good as XP imo but each to their own.

I've heard that that recompiling firefox with cairo rendering helps a great deal. There's also numerous cairo patches to improve sub-pixel (clear type) rendering.

that was one of the reasons I had to go back from ubuntu to windows tbh. I could not stand the fonts. odd eh
