Firefox has annoyed me.

Firefox is no longer the great Firefox it once was? I'm going to be gutted if I have to move on, using it from 2001 when it was Phoenix.
No sorry. This is about Brave, which was mentioned in this thread as people were suggesting it as an alternative to Firefox over the 'megabar' stuff.

Ah. I tried Brave once when it got the rave. Then people started finding things deeper down but had to go back to Firefox as it's so nice with all the extensions that are available.

I jumped from Firefox to Vivaldi years ago and never went back, just like Vivaldi so much, probably the best Chromium based browser IMHO.

Got a link? I am curious :)

They tried to say it was a mistake, but as the article notes -

Eich later admitted that it was a mistake to have the feature enabled by default, not that the feature itself was wrong. Brave has been updated to flip the switch and those who still want to help the company financially will be able to opt into it. Critics of the company point out that this isn’t the first time it has been caught using questionable methods that, at least in the US, would legally require proper and explicit disclosure.

I think they are a bit suspect tbh and under the same strain as firefox etc, in trying to monetise a 'free' product indirectly.
