I have never used Firefox before on my pc as I have never really liked it.

However the new 3.1 beta 3 seems pretty good and IE8 is rubbish and Chrome isnt combatible with Win7.

Anyway when I open a new tab in ff it just gives me a blank page I want it to open my home page which is Google, is there a way to make it do this? Not sure if its me being dumb but I can't find an option.

I still prefer the Chrome New Tab page as my home page, can FF do anything similar? If it could I'd be totally sold.

Thanks

Here for TMP, New Tab Homepage. At worst, you'll need to override the compatiblity check with Mr Tech's Local Install, Nightly Tester Tools or flipping extensions.checkCompatibility.

The folks at Mozilla Labs are also playing with a page for new tabs and have an extension and info here.

Ah got Tab Mix working. Sadly its got rid of the little plus after the tabs to open a new tab, now I have to double click or hit the plus box thats further away. You can't have everything I guess.

That new tabs page looks sweet.

Now If I couold get a dictionary/spell check to work with this beta I would be about sorted.

Thanks

Quick question, will that tabmixplus addon let me open multiple different webpages, when i click a button, or even just by default.

I mainly look at the same sites everyday and have them as links on the bookmarks toolbar along the top, but really wan them to all open automatically.

Its the only good thing I ever saw in IE7 was that multiple home page feature.

You can have multiple tabs open as your home page by default. Open them in a window then Tools -> Options -> General -> Use Current Pages...

Middle mouse on a link opens it in a new tab. Middle mouse on the home button opens home in a new tab :)

That would mean I have to middle mouse button all the individual links on the bookbark bar. I just want it to open them all automatically when I open Firefox.

Besides, I work doing desktop support, and my middle mouse button is my panic button (instantly shows the desktop) when a call comes through and the quality checking screen recording software works.

This means if I middle buttoned a link, that Firefox would just minimise :D
