Firefox/IE

I use Firefox for everything but keep IE around incase I find a website that dsnt like Firefox

But when ever I click on an email notification in msn messenger it opens my hotmail account in an IE window which I dont want it to do.... is there anyway to set it so that it will open in a Firefox window
