firefox - importing bookmarks

if i choose to import bookmarks in firefox will it keep my existing bookmarks alongside the new ones, or will it just overwrite them?

It will keep the original ones and add the updated bookmarks to it. You could be safe and save the existing bookmarks first if you didn't believe me
