Firefox invalid security certificate

I've just been buying AC/DC tickets for Paris Stadium and had a problem connecting to the payment server. I had to switch to Internet Explorer which worked fine.

The error I got with Firefox 3.0.5 (on two different machines) was:

Secure Connection Failed
billetterie.gdp.fr uses an invalid security certificate.
The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is unknown.
(Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer)
This could be a problem with the server's configuration, or it could be someone trying to impersonate the server.

Is there anything I can do the stop this happening in the future? The delay in having to switch browsers and go though the order process again could have ment I lost out on getting tickets.

Thanks

Hmm, I'd be careful trying to bypass stuff like this. Especially on a secure payment server. It's there for a reason.

If it's not happening on every secure server then I'd say it's a problem with the site rather than your browser.

But yeah, as above, was there not an option to temporarily add an exception?

Thanks for the replies.

I guess I could have temporarily added an exception but I don't really like doing that.

I was mainly wondering why Firefox errored while IE worked.

Without knowing the site, it's possible Firefox doesn't trust the same certificate issuers as IE, or it's possible the certificate's invalid.
