firefox not remembering settings

Hi all,

When I set preferences in firefox, the next time I start it doesn't remember them.

Mainly the preference to start with my homepage - it always starts with my last opened tabs.

Anyone know how to fix this?

Which version? Which OS? In Tools -> Options -> Main, have you set "When Firefox starts: Show my home page"?
Any extensions? Tried (Firefox's) safe mode?

Running Norton 360 by any change?

actually i think it has now started to work :s

EDIT: yeah, it appears to work fine now. I think it was because I was closing the window incorrectly (am using the vimperator plugin). Thanks for the suggestions though.
