Firefox not saving my 'settings'?

Basically, my Firefox is no longer saving stuff such as my passwords, removing browsing history... Basically its like when you press the 'Clear private data' every time. However my browser isn't set to Clear Private Data or to do it automatically, nothing is ticked! My browser was OK about a week ago and at first I thought it was just a few forums but it seems to be everyone!

Any ideas?

Could try creating a new profile and see if it does it with that too;
run
firefox -P
then create a new profile

Hmm that didnt seem to work.

Anybody else have ideas? It's really bugging me!

It doesn't work with a new profile, or you couldn't create one?

Sounds like some sort of funky permissions issue.

It doesnt work with a new profile.

It's odd because I really dont remember changing any settings on my computer in the past week.

It might be worth un/reinstalling Firefox (though make sure the directory where you install Fx is empty before you reinstall), but I don't expect it'll do much.

What OS is it?
