Firefox not staying logged in to sites such as OCUK/Gmail

I've just reinstalled XP and whenever I use a site, such as ocuk, I click always stayed logged in. But when I close firefox and open it agian, I have to log in again. I have checked to make sure it is not deleting cookies upon closing, so thats no the issue. I can't figure it out. Anyone have any suggestions?

Sorry Thread hijack, but similar problem.

I have a different problem with firefox. It doesn't save last viewed post in any forum. It's done it on every version of firefox on multiple installs and computers.. Anyone now why. Does security settings need changing from standard?

mine isnt staying logged in either.
weird thing is....i sign in and then click on a subforum and sometimes i stay logged in and other times i need to sign in again.

only happens on this computer though.

Tried a new profile? Is it the same for other sites?

ive uninstalled firefox and deleted all traces of it (apart from registry entries) then reinstalled it and its still the same.

i just restarted my computer and my wallpaper is missing. i had right clicked on an image from interfaceLIFT and done set as my background wallpaper.

its a new installation of windows on this comp...not too worried though as i can just reinstall without losing anything

Uninstalling it won't remove your profile unless you specifically tell it to, because it'll take out your bookmarks, history etc...

I had the same problem last week. A simple google search gives you the answer. I think you close Firefox, type in %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ in Run and click into the folder and then rename cookies.sqlite to cookies.tmp.

FYI,

Firefox 3 has an option to store third party cookies. There is also another option that says to only store them until Firefox is closed. It appears that when you install FF3 on a XP machine, the default installation checks this option. Uncheck that option, and the problem is solved.

The easiest solution is often the most likely one...

The default option is "Until they expire" here, on XP.

I did a fresh install of XP and updated everything (including IE), before I installed firefox. Perhaps that has something to do with it.

That still shouldn't change the cookie settings, unless it was importing them from some other profile.
