Firefox appears to have reset itself. It's reverted to a very clunky skin/gu and, most alarmingly, half of my bookmarks are no longer listed. I cant even find the tab for themes. Most strange. Any ideas about how to reverse this change and get back to the previous state (system restore didn't do it) would be much appreciated!

running v2.0.0.3

Thanks

Got a screenshot of the "clunky theme/gui"?

Create a new profile (instructions here), and see if it's the same.
You won't have the bookmarks/extensions/themes, but you can import/reinstall them.

Then, once you have it back how you like it, get a copy of 'MozBack' and backup on a regular basis!.. Bit of a 'Barn Door' solution if its all gone this time!, but at least 'When' it happens again you'll have it all backed up (including any extensions) for easy restore...

I found this after v2.01 of FF lost my profiles 3 times! and I also had to re-build my PC a few times!.. Just restore and it how you remember, Every time!!

hmm ok - what about the truncated bookmark list?

could it be hidden somewhere else - this more than anything I need to get back

Simply don't know how it could have happened

:(

The 'clunky theme' ended up being the default (along with all default settings - d/l point, tab management etc) - was able to restore my usual Blue Qute theme simply enough through add-ons settings

Sounds like it's already kicked off a new profile.

The bookmarks are at %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\[random letters].[profile name]\bookmarks.html - it's possible that what you see in Firefox isn't what is in there.
