I changed some settings today on firefox and didnt really know what i was dong and now :( it has screwed up firefox. I think i went to tools>options, then changed something there, remeber changing what it should delete, and keep etc, i told it not to keep history, and then like clear cache, cookies, saved form entries etc and now i get a problem wit most web pages.

It happens on pages such as ebay when i go to the website i dont get any images at all, and the page is like it goes to the defualt messege/name when an image cant be downloaded, and then if i try going to anotyher website it tries to get me to download a .dll file wihch i tried but then it wants to know what to open it with and i have no clue, select from web and get nothing and then i choose and it tried photoshop. It also happens on hotmail.com when trying to go to my inbox and it tries some differnt .dll file and if i click to cancel it comes up like 5/6 times.

anyone know what i have done and how to fix it.

well when i go to settings it says that java sciprt enabled and java enabled, and load images. they are all ticked so i miagine they are all enabled.

Suppose you could remove and reinstall, and be more careful when changing settings :p

what a coincidence, same things happened to me yesterday, damn annoying i tell you....
I caused it by using tune up utilities i think, it cleared history, temp files and cookies etc.
But after an hour or 2 of fiddling and system restoring still no luck but all of a sudden it just fixed it self somehow. It would work in sites like ebay, google, yahoo....

let me know if you find the problem

When mine did that I found it was also happening in IE.
Turned out my Belkin Router was to blame, turned belkins firewall off & bam, I was able to see pics again. Kind of strange that it didnt happen for 2 years then suddenly it broke. Anyway, fixed it for good by getting a Netgear :D

I can sympathise there buddy! that happened to me yesterday! same thing too - using tune-up.

the only wierd thing that has not fixed is MSN Messenger smileys dont show still!

well it seems to have worked again for no apparent reason.

What id like to know now though is:
1. How do i get the tabs bar to be there always, even when the is only 1 tab open?
2. How do i get the ebay.co.uk site to keep my freaking signed in? i i sign in, tick the keep me signed in box yet it never keeps me for more then one or 2 pages. I have got firefox to remember my password but thats it. thanks everyone

Save form information?

The other option is in tools->options->tabs then untick "hide tab bar when only 1 tab is open"

This is assuming you're using 1.5 or later.
