How do I get to it? I've somehow aquired a crap plugin, and want to remove it - but I can't find the plugin menu, if there is one.

Have looked in install/uninstall menu, but there's nowt there out of the ordinary.

Here's a shot of the problem - seems to be with any embedded Windows Media player...

I get audio, but no video.

If it is a plugin and not an extension it is likely you'll need to manually delete the dll file from the plugins folder of your Firefox install. Having checked mine most, if not all, of the plugins have descriptions so you can know which extension you are deleting.

That's the problem, though - I don't know which one/s to delete, because I don't know what the offending plugin is!

Could possibly be that you don't have the codec installed on your PC that it was created with?

Or like MarcLister has suggested, find the dll in the plugins folder and delete it.

Good luck :)

Ah. I see. In that case, choose one and rename it or add '.old' to the file name so that it can't be used and try Firefox again. If this works then you know which one to delete. If it doesn't work, rename it back to the original name and choose the next file.

Either that or copy all the plugins to a spare folder, just make a new one. Copy them back into the plugins folder one at a time and see how Firefox responds after each new plugin is moved back. Should be quite easy to find the offending plugin that way.

Or just delete everything in that folder and let Firefox reinstall them as you go to websites that need a particular plugin.

Considering you are getting audio but not video, try deleting the Quicktime plugins.

The problem might be with Adblock, though for me it was only stopping flash from working.

To remove:
Tools > Extensions
Select Adblock from the list and Uninstall. You'll have to restart Friefox

If you like Adblock (I love it) try this:

Tools > Adblock > Preferences
Unselect "Obj-Tabs" from the Adblock options drop down list.

As has been said above it may be a missing codec problem.
