hi
just want to ask you guys if you have had this certain dogey popup on firefox.
My mum was browsing the internet and she happened to get some firefox security popup box allert saying that certain files are infected and at threat , but she clicked on the bit that says click here to repair infected files.
She said that it then downloaded a file called avupdate.exe to the documents folder.
ive not opened it and deleted it straight away , ive run nod32 scan and windows defender both have not reported any problems.
Do you think its ok as i did not open the exe file , im just worried that it did download a file to the pc.
Im sure it was dogey as clicking the x on the popup prompted to download a binary file.
*ive also run a MALWAREBYTES scan with nothing being detected
