FireFox Problem - not loading sites

last night i updated to 1.5.0.7 or something and now when i load firefox (tried v.1.5.0.7, v.2.0 RC2, FF portable) it wont load ANY web sites...i've got to browse in ie....gay.

anyone got any ideas on why FF studdenly wont work...i reinstalled it back to the older version that did work...now none do.

no firewall on my machine....but there are firewalls on the connection, but i can't config them - its a uni internet connection so i have no power over it.

yeah IE works just fine...just any version of firefox that doesn't work...which is why i can't figure it out...
