firefox problem - scandisk related

Lo all,

Several times the g/fs PC has run scandisk when its booted up, and each time it always finds problems with the bookmarks and login info stored by firefox. I was wondering where the bookmarks are stored normally for firefox, why i would be getting this problem with it and is there anyway i could possibly recover them?

I know scandisk doesnt delete them but cant remember what it actually said

Any advice gratefully received because i am truly fed up with her nagging

In Windows 2k/XP and with any release version of Firefox, they should be at %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\[random alphanumeric].[name]\bookmarks.html.
