What could stop firefox working?

I have a media PC that was working just fine earlier this morning. I wanted to reformat a data drive that didn't affect the main drive that Firefox is on. However, booting up the system with the drive blank and Firefox is totally dysfunctional. It refuses to connect to the internet. I repaired it, no joy. Re-installed it, no joy. I have no idea what is stopping it working. The crazy thing is that Edge works just fine.
Any ideas?

Try using about: profiles (remove space) to temporarily create a new profile and set it default see if that changes anything.

I managed to fit it. Unfortunately, the only way is to use the registry editor to re-categorize the connection type. It can't be done through Win11 (Bug?)
