ive been using FireFox for years now, but lately its starting to anoy me more and more.

I keep getting the same problems with FireFox.

One of the main problems is it randomly when loading some sites it locks up for a about 5+ seconds before it loads the page then it runs very slow (task manager shows FF eating memory and CPU using to 100% when this happens).

Some sites i go to FF just sits there and does nothing, little spinning circle thing in the tab spins, then i loads the page (its like FF is sitting there thinking oh a website what should i do what should i do).

open IE or chrome do the same site, loads almost instantly.

ive tried disabling all plugins but still had the same problems (addons installed are

NoScript
AdBlock Plus
Kasperskey (Anti Banner, Keyboard, URL Advisor)
Invisible Hand

has anyone else had problems with FF doing this, ive tried deleting its cache/history etc, updated to the latest version but still have the same problems

Can you get the same pluins/addons i have for firefox for chrome, if you can i will switch now.

even at work, quite a few use firefox and they are having problems with it starting to get slow etc so i know its not just me.

Adblock plus is available, I'm not sure about the others.

Update browser, if problem persists it's the profile (99% of the time it is anyway). Wf uses the same profile.

Try clearing your cache. I find that if you use WinDirStat you can find that FF has a cache of >1GB.

To clear your cache press Ctrl+Shift+Delete, select a time range of Everything, and then only select Cache.

I find that purging my cache gets things back to normal pretty quickly, unless the issue is with Flash related stuff.

I forgot to mention that a surprising amount of hanging can be traced back to java.

Considering how much Mozilla has improved (changed) in recent months it's not surprising. What is surprising is when updating java fixes slow loading, stuttering and choppy flash streaming.

I'm on my third version of java in the past month :-/
