always been a opera man myself but today thought i would try firefox and when i put it on it judders up and down all the time anyone else had this, using the latest one, thanks for any advice

does it sometimes when I remove all the default bookmarks to add my saved ones..

but stops once I add the bookmarks and continue.

Is it juddering all the time?

tried this version Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.14 and yes does it all the time,so took it of and removed everthing to do with it and tried again but still does it,cheers for the advice aswell, tolien what do you mean by new profile m8 and yes even tried it in safe mode

Hold on, by juddering you mean the bouncing bookmarks menu?

took it of and removed everthing to do with it

Including the folder in %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox?

tolien what do you mean by new profile m8 and yes even tried it in safe mode

The important data is held in your profile - settings, bookmarks, history, cookies, etc. Most issues with Firefox stem from the contents of that folder.
There are instructions for creating a new profile here.

Did you try Firefox's safe mode, or Windows'?

tried both m8 and yes juddering from the bookmarks, will do what you said m8 and let you know cheers for all the advice,p.s will this folder be in the firefox folder m8 as cant find it when i installed it again
%APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox?

tolien m8 ive got it down to save passwords for my forums but everytime i come of then go back on got to put username and password back in,is there another way round it as with opera when it saved it it was there all the time never had to log in again,or is that what i will have to do with firefox cheers m8

You need to save cookies - remembering the password only prefills the form that asks for your username and password.
It should keep you logged in unless you've set Firefox to delete your cookies.

got it to save cookies m8 but went back on today and had to log in to them again, thanks for the help m8 just going to stick with opera this is no were near as good as opera, cheers m8

You've either enabled clear private data, there's something broken with the site or you're doing something wrong somewhere - there's no problem with Firefox storing cookies...

were is enabled clear private data at m8,as went back into firefox and had to log in again to overclockers and sorry for being a pain m8

That doesn't show anything - Tools -> Options -> Privacy -> Always clear my private data when I close... should be unchecked. While you're there, what's checked in the cookies options on the same tab?

That's right - I'm guessing you ticked the "Remember me" box when you logged into the forum?

While I'm at it, for the love of Christ stop interspersing your sentences with m8.
