Hey all,

When you download a file in Firefox, when I close the browser it closes the download, so it doesn't get finished, then I have to find the download location again and download it and keep the browser open :p

Is there an add-on or setting so it at least gives you a warning before closing the browser whilst downloading or maybe just keeps the download going upon closing the browser?

Thanks muchly :D

I download almost everything using the DownThemAll extension these days - tend to get a better download speed from less good servers. It'll also solve your problem, as the DownThemAll window stays open if you close all your Firefox windows.

Usually when I close Firefox and think "doh i as downloading" it just pops up with the download window automatically, I don't think I used any addon to get that effect.

Stick about:config in your address bar. As the article says, 0 is the default, but I still get a warning that active downloads will be cancelled...

Wierd... mine is set to 0 and yet when I download it still cancels the download (And clears the download list) when I close the browser...

Do you have the 'clear private data when i close firefox' box ticked in tools > options > Privacy?
If so untick.
