firefox + remembering passwords etc

all the forums I use.....I never used to have to enter my username etc after the first time doing so....firefox would remember them and log me in anytime i tried to access a page that needed me to log in

a while ago I had to re-enter all my passwords etc as they all seemed to dissappear
now....it still remembers my username/pass but i have to enter the first letter of my username in to the box, then it brings up a list, then i need to click log in or whatever

any ideas ?

AFAIK it will only log you in automatically if you select the remember me checkbox on the logon screens. That's to do with the site and cookies, not Firefox. Firefox will remember your username and password though, and should insert them into the logon fields when the page loads, without you having to type anything into them though..
