Firefox - save files without asking?

How can I get Firefox to save files and images without popping upa dialog box asking me where to save? I just want them to save to the default directory as soon as I click save.

I know about that but it doesn't work like that.

"Save Image As" and "Save Link As" still pop up the box. And there is no "Save Image" rather than "Save Image As".
