Basically if I load up OcUK forums - the little forum images don't all load and it can take a short while for them to load. This goes for ANY website. From what I gather it's an issue with Gecko - but it's highly irritating and I want to try and circumvent the issue if at all possible.

I find the best setting to be Optimized as it does not increase web server load and loads fastest out of all settings IMO.
It loads quick for me, without Fasterfox (which you should be warned, may break your Firefox - back up your profile first).
Have you got the cache enabled (if you haven't changed any settings in about:config or don't know how to disable it, you probably haven't)?
