Firefox - Spell check

The spell check on my Firefox has never worked.

Ok maybe once a long time ago there was version that was underlining words and offering me suggestions.

To this day version 27, it doesnt work!

I googled it and this is already enabled:

Tools > Options > Advanced : General: Browsing: "Check my spelling as I type"

Do I need to install a dictionary?

Surely it's already built in to the browser?

You need a dictionary installed to be able to do spell checking (if you right click in any text box, you should have a languages option and in there is an option to add a dictionary which will direct you to the add-ons section on the firefox website that shows all the dictionaries you can install).
