Firefox spellchecker

For some reason there is no spellcheck to what I can see on my firefox, I'm on the latest version, everything is as it should be in the options to what I can see, any reason why it's not working? Or am I just being blind and missing something obvious.

Have you installed a dictionary?

You're not being blind, the options are just poorly implemented. Check the right-click context menu on a page that allows you to input information, like a forum reply. You'll see options to check spelling and choose the dictionary language.

I've noticed myself that the dictionary seems to be installed by default sometimes and not others.

It depends whether you install a localisation or not. IIRC only the en-US dictionary can be bundled so nothing gets included if you download an en-GB version of Firefox.
